How to Create a Funding Source and Contract

This article will walk through the process of creating a Funding Source and Funding Source Contract.
Terminology can be modified within SETWorks to better fit the needs of your organization. If the terminology in our articles are not the same on your site, talk to your local administrator to assist in translation.
Funding Source
1. Navigate to the Funding Source Utility.
Settings>Provider Build>Utility Drop Down>Contract / Funding Source / Funding Source Contacts
2. Select the "Add new record" button to create a new Funding Source.
3. Give the Funding Source a Description and Code. Make sure the "Active" box is checked and select "Insert" to save.
Funding Source Contract
1. Click the Funding Source you would like to add a Contract to.
2. Select "Add new record" in the Contracts Section.
3. Add the appropriate information to the following fields.
FundingSource - Select the Funding Source from the Drop Down.
Departments - Use the arrows to add certain Departments to a Funding Source Contract. Leaving all the Departments on the left side will assign all Departments to the Funding Source Contract.
Cost Center - Select a Cost Center from the Drop Down to a Funding Source Contract if applicable.
Description - Create a name for the Funding Source Contract.
Contract Number - Add the Contract Number to the Funding Source Contract if applicable.
Customer Number - Add the Customer Number to the Funding Source Contract if applicable.
Active - Makes Funding Source Contract active or inactive.
Code - Create a code name for the Funding Source Contract.
Transportation - Select this box if the Funding Source Contract is for Transportation.
MileageRate - Add the Mileage Rate if applicable.
"If authorization hours are exceeded the authorization is disabled (You must set the corresponding privilege to the user to YES for this to apply)" -
Check this box to have the Authorization attached to this Funding Source Contract be disabled if the hours are exceeded.
"If limits are exceeded for an authorization the authorization is disabled (You must set the corresponding privilege to the user to YES for this to apply)" -
Check this to have the Authorization attached to this Funding Source Contract be disabled if the limits are exceeded
You must have this Privilege enabled to be to use these check boxes.
"Disables an authorization if the limit or overall hours are exhausted, if and only if this is set to true and if the corresponding contract also forces the authorization limit to be set. This same setting applies to limits but is broken out for the contract. For this to be set you must have this set to YES as well as the contracts."
4. Select "Insert" to save Funding Source Contract.
Making the contract inactive will make it so you can't create new authorizations and choose the inactive contract. If an existing authorization has the inactive contract selected it will remain selected, unless you edit it and select a different one.

Observe in the video below that in order to create a new Contract you must first select a Funding Source that the Contract is associated with.
Once a Funding Source is selected the Contract section will populate with options.
