Goal Types allow you to categorize and tag goals so you can take a big picture look at what’s happening in your organization. Categorizing your goals combined
the Business Intelligence dashboards let you dive deep into goal categories by departments, funder, service, and how many supports are provided per goal type. Examples of Goal Types include: Health, Safety, Wellness, Community, Socialization, Employment, Hard Skills, Soft Skills, etc. Organizations are also using categories as used by their state such as the Missouri Quality Outcomes in Missouri or Every Day Lives in Pennsylvania.
Privileges
Start by Navigating to the Maintain Privileges window:
Settings > Provider Build > Maintain Privileges > Goals:
Require selecting a Goal Type for a goal.
Is able to view & edit Goal Types.
Now that we've enabled Goal Types, let's go configure the Goal Type categories:
Goal Type Utility
Navigate to the Goal Type Utility and configure Goal Type categories:
After configuring Goal Type categories in the Goal Type Utility, we're ready to start using Goal Types. Let's take a look at the Client Profile next.
Using Goal Type

When configuring Goals, you will now see the Type field within the Goal Window:
That's all! Configure Goals as normal, knowing that Goals will now be organized into categories by type. Next, let's take a look at reports.
Reports
Goal Type Overview Dashboard
- This dashboard displays data about Goals and Goal Types used across the system. This does not include data from Activity Records and Keys.
Notes: Must be using Goal Types.
Goal Type Usage Dashboard - This dashboard displays data about Goals and Goal Types used across the system as well as their usage. Includes data from Activity Records and Keys.
Notes: Must be using Goal Types. This dashboard works with both Billable Individual and Billable Group Activity Records.
